Consultation

Zen Zone Spa offers a free consultation with our registered nurse to determine whether or not a patient is a good candidate for Botox injections.  At the consultation your questions about the procedure can be answered and our RN will decide how much product is necessary to achieve your desired results. Our medical director/registered nurse can estimate a quote based on the number of areas being treated and can also explain why it is important to have the procedure done by a provider with experience.  To accommodate our cosmetic patients busy schedules we dedicate time specifically for our Botox Treatments.

Procedure

Botox treatment is a very effective procedure for reducing wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the bridge of the nose, across the forehead and at the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet).  By injecting tiny amounts of Botox into specific facial muscles, the wrinkles and lines made by these muscle contractions can be relaxed or blocked.  The procedure only takes 15-20 minutes to perform.  The full effect of the treatment takes approximately 3-7 days to occur.  Most patients describe the sensation of the injections as “little mosquito bites” because the needle used is very tiny.  It is advantageous to avoid Aspirin and Motrin for the week before your injection to minimize the chance of a bruise.

Recovery

The Botox procedure is considered a “no down time procedure” or no prolonged or noticeable recovery.  There could be a mild swelling at the injection site however this is temporary.  There is the rare occurrence of a bruise but makeup can be worn after treatments.  Many patients return immediately to work or their daily routine. The results of the treatment typically last 4-6 months and most patients report that subsequent treatments have given them even longer lasting results than their first treatment.
